Westhill Academy - Peru

Pupils launch appeal for sponsorship/ donations

The pupils are currently busy trying to raise over £4,000 each to take part in the educational expedition where they will work in a local nursery school to improve the learning facilities for local children. The challengers will be given the opportunity to get to know the locals by participating in activities with the children whilst the locals give the challengers a taste of the Peruvian lifestyle cooking traditional meals and displaying traditional ceremonies.

Peru Challenge

Adventurous students from Westhill Academy are planning an educational expedition to South Peru in July 2012.

A team of 18 students from the school have committed to completing a 20-month programme of planning, money management and training in preparation for their expedition. The development programme, managed by expedition organisers, World Challenge, will encourage the students to learn through experience by confronting challenges they have never faced before while liaising with them to organise their itinerary and work through a money management programme to raise their own expedition funds.
